Hello! My name is...

Have you ever been to a gathering of strangers and have to wear one of those "HELLO! My name is..." tags? As much as we don't like to wear them, they can be so helpful when it comes to learning names and beginning new relationships, especially for those of us who tend to forget names quickly. In the book of Ephesians, Paul gives believers some name tags to wear that provide an intimate look at what it means to truly be a follower of Christ - tags like "Saint" and "Heir" and "Alive". But the tags reveal so much more than just our new names - they also give us a glimpse at the new relationships we have with and through Jesus Christ and how we should live our life as his disciples.

So many times we look at the men and women in the Bible as "heroes" and place them on a pedestal of honor. Publicly, we pray that we can be just like them but privately we feel like we will never be able to live up to their standards. But the reality we see in the Bible is that the heroes were men and women who struggled just like we do. This summer we are going to look at several classic examples of our Bible heroes who struggled with their faith and fell into sin and we will watch how God consistently forgives and restores them.
